About the Speaker:
Telissa Fair Ward felt compelled to follow in her parent’s footsteps by watching them become beacons of light in their communities growing up with her siblings. As the oldest of seven, she is the caretaker and leader of the family. She promised her mother she would take care of her siblings.

Her love for entrepreneurship found herself wanting to help others in the community by joining several organizations;
• Piedmont Black Chamber of Commerce-Founding Board member
• Spirit, Body & Soul-501c3-Founding member and Chair of Fundraising-connects the community with resources from her church; a Community Garden, Backpack Food program, and Bookworms.
• Member & Trustee of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem- President of Hospitality Committee, Chair of the Black History Program for the month of February.
• Member of Sigma Gamma Rho, Inc. Philo Affiliate since 2018
• Washington Street Business Association Founding Board Member and Secretary since 2009. Membership Chair and Unity Festival Committee.
Telissa’s current employment allows her to combine her love of food, entrepreneurship and community in her role as Kitchen Coordinator of the only permitted shared-use commercial kitchen in Triad NC.
