Online community training:
October 15, 22, 29 and November 5, 2020: 3:00pm – 5:00pm
This training is offered by 18 Springs Community Healing Center in conjunction with Kaleideum, Fearless Winston-Salem, Northstar LGBTQ Community Center, The Freedom Tree at Institute for Dismantling Racism, Women of Action and K10Yoga.  It is designed for Winston-Salem residents, local organizers and non-profits. Establish a shared language and understanding of concepts including white supremacy, equity, inclusion, oppression, privilege, intersectionality, and internalization. Develop a framework to understand personal, cultural, and institutional racism, and the history of the race construct. Learn to take action from our particular social location and identity. The workshop will include embodied contemplative practices to bring us into our feelings, journaling, self-reflection and both small and large group discussions.  It is appropriate for individuals and organizations who are seeking to better understand how racism works and what to do about it, as well as for long-time activists who desire to make more connections in the community while nurturing themselves. Each class builds on the last, so please try your best to attend all.
FREE or by donation to 18 Springs.
