The Golden Tales of Hip-Hop

This free musical in Bailey Park features members of NC Black Rep’s Teen Theatre Ensemble. Written and directed by Charles Anthony Burks.

A group of classic characters from various children’s tales come to life in a new way to tell a family-friendly fun story of the celebration of life, rekindling of love and coming together as a community! The Golden Tales of Hip Hop sends you on a journey to see if aspiring rapper Biggie Wolf, whose career and love life is in the trash, can get his life together, Gold D’Locks a famous party girl can find a place to throw her birthday jam in the forest, all while the Rap City Dragon plots to take over and rule the Hip Hop Forest.
