From yoga to running to practicing mindfulness, here are six events that focus on wellness and can give your personal goals the boost you need to be successful.


1. Metrics That Matter | Jan. 23

Knowing your health metrics (blood pressure, BMI, glucose, etc.) and financial indicators (credit score, debt-to-income ratio, etc.) can help you make smarter decisions toward your goal of healthier financial and physical well-being. Join WellQ for this free class, which will help you learn how to keep tabs on the numbers that matter. The event has limited seating. Advance registration is required.

2. Yoga at Incendiary Brewing Co. | Mondays

486 N. Patterson Ave.
$10, 5:30 – 6:30 pm

Stretch and strengthen your body with this 45-minute yoga session on the patio of Incendiary Brewing Co. led by Chloe Nickles. Entry fee includes a pint of fresh brew.

3. Trailblazers Running Group | Thursdays

Innovation Quarter YMCA
525 Vine St.
Free, 5:15 – 5:45 pm

This weekly walking/running group offers accountability, encouragement and community as participants work toward their fitness goals. Meet in the lobby of the YMCA before joining the group on the Long Branch Trail. The group also meets at Incendiary Brewing Co. for a post-run celebration.

4. Community Yoga in the Atrium | Monthly

Wake Forest Biotech Place Atrium

Free, 11:45 am – 12:30 pm

On the second Wednesday of every month, spend your lunch break with this free community class in the atrium offered by the Innovation Quarter YMCA. The next class will be held Feb. 13.

5. Mindfulness Class | Feb. 20

Free, noon – 1 pm

Discover the physical and mental-health benefits of practicing mindfulness and how being fully present can help with weight loss, stress management, anxiety and depression. The free class will teach participants how to embrace mindfulness to enhance health, finances and relationships. The event has limited seating. Advance registration is required.

6. Money Habitudes | Feb. 27

Free, noon – 1 pm

Understand how your values, habits, attitudes and emotions impact your spending and saving decisions. This interactive session will also help you learn how to have more productive discussions about money and to develop strategies for growth.
