It’s Never Too Early to Start Innovating

That’s why we helped found SciTech Institute, a community enrichment program in partnership with Winston-Salem State University that seeks to inspire young minds in Forsyth County through STEM education. Learn more about SciTech’s flagship program, their two-week summer camp, or the additional touchpoints they offer throughout the year.

Connect Your Student to Opportunities Just Around the Corner

SciTech’s mission is to help young students discover not only the importance of STEM careers, but to uncover their own potential in STEM-related fields.

SciTech programming gives students exposure to careers in STEM through partnerships with local companies and organizations in their own backyard, along with a host of experiential activities. From dissections and experiments, to field trips to museums and college campuses, to classes that offer hands-on learning of practical skills; these students walk away inspired and better equipped to explore STEM-related careers for their own future.

SciTech focuses on recruiting students from underserved populations but is open to all middle-schoolers in Forsyth County. Students are divided into age groups to ensure progressive learning for return students.

How SciTech Inspires Students to Pursue STEM Careers

SciTech has been impacting the Winston-Salem community since its launch in 2004 by inviting the next generation of innovators to learn more about STEM. Their mission is one that goes hand-in-hand with the goals of the Innovation Quarter. Read more about the program’s origins and what it means to participants and leaders alike on the hub.
