In 2008, a group of entrepreneurs, scientists, and U.S. military veterans partnered with the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine to launch a company focused on developing products to treat complex traumatic battlefield injuries occurring in Iraq and Afghanistan. That company was KeraNetics. This collaboration led to more groundbreaking developments, including KeraStat® Cream as a medical countermeasure against radiation injuries for the Department of Defense and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority.
