Virtual: Racial Equity: The Groundwater Presentation

Neighbors for Better Neighborhoods are conducting critical training along with The Racial Equity Institute. The Groundwater Presentation is a three-hour introduction to racial equity. In this lively and participatory presentation, REI organizers will use stories and data to present a perspective that racism is fundamentally structural in nature. By examining the characteristics of modern-day racial inequity, the presentation introduces participants to an analysis that most find immediately helpful and relevant.
The Groundwater Presentation dovetails with REI’s Phase 1 workshop and is recommended as an introduction or followup to a full two-day workshop.
The Racial Equity Institute (REI) believes that organizations are often working in very intentionally civil ways yet operating from multiple understandings that rely more on personal feelings and popular opinion. This creates complications to the goal of eliminating racial and ethnic disparities and producing equitable outcomes.
