Innovation & Cinema: La Bamba
September 12 @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm
FreeReleased in 1958, “La Bamba” was the first Spanish song to reach number one on American music charts. Immerse yourself in the man–and story–behind this iconic hit with the movie La Bamba, the next movie in our Innovation & Cinema series.
Fun fact: Rumor has it a La Bamba remake is in the works, so watch the original in Bailey Park this summer and you’ll be ready for the new version when it comes out!
Oh, and come hungry! Whether you want to eat dinner in the park or just enjoy some tasty snacks during the movie, local food vendors will ensure you have lots of delicious options. Food and beverages will be available for purchase starting at 7 p.m., and the rock and roll starts at sunset.
There are LOTS of extra reasons to mark your calendar for this event, which will take place during Hispanic Heritage Month. Luis De La Cruz with Son Caribe Latin Dance will be in the park to get everyone in the Latin music spirit. (Come back again on October 4 for Bailey Park’s Latin Fest, too!)
Outside alcohol is prohibited, but outside food is welcome. Plan to bring your own seating–a blanket or low-backed chair so everyone can see well. If your dog comes along, please make sure they’re on a leash.
In the case of inclement weather, changes to the screening will be made by 4 p.m. on the day of the event. Keep an eye on iQ social channels for those weather updates.
Innovation & Cinema is proudly hosted by Innovation Quarter and a/perture Cinema.
